Real hard climb… not. We took the gondola up.
Found the Nevis Range Mountain Experience easily. We took the time to pass by the boys and ladies room. What a surprise when I got out of the little room. All of a sudden there is a queue of a few dozen tourists standing in line. Nooooo! I hurried up to buy the tickets for the ride. We were fast enough to be ahead of the herd and got into our gondola with only the four of us.
During this 15 minutes or so ride, my friend had the great idea to tell about a movie she had seen some years ago, about a group of friends who were the last to take the gondola back down and got stuck, as the other operator didn’t know they were in there. She is a great story teller and by the minute I was getting more and more uneasy (I am afraid of heights…). O… and by the way… it didn’t end well… and it was based on a true story. Arghhhh.
We made it.
We hiked the trail going to the left assuming the views would be less disrupted than the path up to the right. Not a difficult hike, but we are not in real good physical condition… yet. Nice views and that’s what we wanted.
